1. Record the exact item identity

The official listing says new equipment powers are coming, but it does not provide a complete item catalog. Copy the exact in-game name, icon label, visible description, and the build date. If any field is missing, leave it blank instead of filling it from a rumor.

Separate an item’s appearance from its effect. A rare-looking icon is not evidence that it improves survival, and an effect described in a video is not official until the source can be traced.

2. Use a controlled comparison

Choose one measurable question, such as whether an interaction completes faster or whether a visible prompt changes. Keep the route, starting position, player count, and timing as consistent as possible. Run a baseline without the item before testing with it.

Record failures and no-change results. They prevent a memorable success from becoming a misleading “best equipment” claim.

3. Report limits and unknowns

Do not infer cooldowns, damage, range, or drop rates unless the game displays them or an official source states them. A single observed activation can show that an effect happened; it cannot prove its full rule.

Use the tier-list page for the current data boundary. Until names, effects, version, and repeatable tests exist, the honest output is a test log rather than an S-to-D ranking.

4. Re-test after balance changes

Keep a data version and last-tested date beside every observation. When the update log records a new equipment announcement or in-game change, repeat the baseline before comparing old results with new ones.

If an official source disappears, retain the previous result but mark it stale. Never convert a missing source into proof that an item was removed or weakened.
