Solo survival

MM2 of The Locust Solo Strategy

A solo strategy guide for MM2 of The Locust: identify objectives, reduce test noise, and review runs without guessing hidden mechanics.

1. Prepare a solo test

The listing describes a Survival / 1 vs All experience with servers of up to 30 players, but it does not promise a solo mode or publish role rules. Treat a solo run as a learning method, not proof that every system is balanced for one player.

Before joining, choose one question: can you identify the objective, measure a route, or reproduce an interaction alone? A narrow question prevents a crowded round from turning into an unclear list of guesses.

2. Spend the first minute on orientation

Read every visible instruction and scan the immediate space before committing to a route. Note landmarks using neutral descriptions such as color, shape, or relative position. Do not invent map names when the game has not supplied one.

If another player changes the scene, mark the attempt as contaminated and repeat it. Solo testing is valuable because fewer decisions are shared, but it still needs a clean observation record.

3. Manage risk without pretending to know enemy rules

Do not claim that the Locust has a fixed detection radius, cooldown, or spawn pattern unless a source confirms it. Instead, use visible information: prompts, line of sight, audio cues, and the result of a controlled move. If a cue is uncertain, back away and test it in a later attempt.

Keep your route simple enough to repeat. A short loop with one decision point gives you better evidence than an elaborate path you cannot describe after the round.

4. Review solo results honestly

After three or more comparable runs, group notes by outcome: completed objective, interrupted objective, lost orientation, or technical failure. This tells you what to improve without turning a small sample into a tier list.

Use the status page to check whether an update happened between tests. If it did, start a new baseline and keep the old notes labeled with their date.

Frequently asked questions

Is MM2 of The Locust designed for solo play?

The official listing confirms the survival premise and server capacity, but it does not publish a separate solo mode or balance rules. Treat solo play as an observation approach until more is announced.

What should I measure first?

Measure one objective prompt, one route choice, and the time until the attempt ends. Those three fields create a useful baseline without assuming hidden mechanics.
