Escape strategy
MM2 of The Locust How to Escape
Learn how to escape in MM2 of The Locust with an objective-first routine, repeatable route tests, and honest failure review.
1. Read the objective before moving
The official Roblox listing confirms the survival and escape premise, but it does not publish a fixed win condition or a universal route. At the start of each round, pause long enough to read every visible objective, prompt, and warning. The text shown in the current build is more reliable than an older video title.
Write the objective in your own words before choosing a direction. If the game shows a named location, item, or interaction, keep that exact spelling in your notes. This prevents a guessed shortcut from becoming a false “how to escape” rule when Pre-Alpha content changes.
2. Establish a safe baseline
Use your first two attempts to learn the shape of a round. Record when you gain control, how long you stay active, what ends the attempt, and whether the ending came from a visible instruction, another player, or a bug. You are building a baseline, not proving that one route is best.
The Escape Planner can turn those observations into a session budget. Enter the measured attempt duration and reset time; the tool intentionally does not guess a hidden round timer or success probability. A plan is useful even when the result is simply “I need another observation.”
3. Test one route variable at a time
When you see more than one possible path, change one variable per attempt: direction, timing, teammate position, or interaction order. Keep the other choices as similar as possible. This makes a failure informative and lets you compare attempts instead of relying on memory.
Do not call a path “safe” after a single success. Repeat it in a different server or with a different player count, then label the result as observed until an official source documents the rule. This standard is especially important while the listing still warns players to expect bugs.
4. Turn a failed escape into the next test
After an attempt ends, write one sentence answering: what did I know, what changed, and what will I test next? If the answer is unclear, the next run should focus on visibility and orientation rather than speed. A short, repeatable note is more valuable than a long clip with no context.
Check the status and update pages before reusing advice from a previous session. A listing change, new map, or equipment announcement can invalidate an old route without making the old observation dishonest.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a confirmed fastest escape route?
No. The official listing does not publish a map route, timing, or escape formula, so this wiki keeps route claims in the observed category until they are reproducible and sourced.
How many attempts should I test?
Use at least two comparable attempts for an initial observation, then repeat after a server or version change. The right sample depends on what you are testing.
